A person who learns from his punishment can help other people live too. But a person who refuses to learn only leads people the wrong way.

If a person wants to be wise, then he is not angry if someone tells him when he does wrong. The person who hates to be told that he is wrong is stupid.

If a person is stubborn and becomes more angry every time people tell him that he is doing wrong, then that person will be destroyed. There is no hope.

The commands and teachings from your parents are like a light that shows you the right way. They correct you and train you to follow the path to life.

“May the clouds in the skies above\par drop goodness on the earth like rain!\par May the earth open\par and let salvation grow!\par And may goodness grow with it!\par I, the Lord, made him. {\cf2\super [403]} \par

“You people are unfaithful. But Come back to me!” This message was from the Lord.

“You must say to them, ‘The Lord my Master says: On my life, I promise, I don’t enjoy seeing people die—not even evil people! I don’t want them to die. I want those evil people to come back to me. I want them to change their lives so they can really live! So come back to me! Stop doing bad things! Why must you die, family of Israel?’

Israel, you fell and sinned against God. So come back to the Lord your God.

You will know that I am with Israel.\par You will know that I am the Lord your God.\par There is no other God.\par My people will never be ashamed again.”\par

“After this I will pour (give) my Spirit\par on all kinds of people.\par Your sons and daughters will prophesy. {\cf2\super [21]} \par Your old men will dream dreams.\par Your young men will see visions. {\cf2\super [22]} \par

“Yes, at that time, I will bring back the people of Judah and Jerusalem from captivity.

\{You are like all other people\}—you are evil. But you know how to give good things to your children. So surely your heavenly Father knows how to give the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [200]} to those people that ask him.”

Jesus was talking about the \{Holy\} Spirit. {\cf2\super [115]} The Spirit had not yet been given to people, because Jesus had not yet \{died and\} been raised to glory. But later, those people that believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit.

I began telling people that they should change their hearts and lives and turn back to God. I told the people to do things that show that they really changed their hearts. I told these things first to people in Damascus. Then I went to Jerusalem and to every part of Judea and told these things to the people there. I also went to the non-Jewish people.

So you must change your hearts and lives! Come back to God and he will forgive your sins.
