Lord, you made me understand this: {\cf2\super [250]} \par You don’t really want\par sacrifices {\cf2\super [251]} and grain offerings.\par You don’t really want\par burnt offerings and sin offerings.\par


This will make God happy!\par This will be better than killing a bull and offering the whole animal as a sacrifice. {\cf2\super [403]} \par


The lamb must be a one-year-old male, and it must be completely healthy. This animal can be either a young sheep or a young goat.


\{God says,\} “Why do you continue giving me all these sacrifices? {\cf2\super [7]} I have had enough of your sacrifices of goats and fat from bulls, sheep, and goats.


Why? Because I want faithful love,\par not sacrifice,\par \{I want people\} to know God,\par not \{to bring\} burnt offerings.\par


You will bring an offering by fire to the Lord for seven days. On the eighth day you will have another holy meeting. You will bring an offering by fire to the Lord. This will be a holy meeting. You must not do any work.


You will offer burnt offerings. They will be offerings made by fire. Their smell will please the Lord. You will offer 13 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them.


So brothers and sisters, I beg you to do something. God has shown us great mercy. So offer your lives as a living sacrifice {\cf2\super [130]} to God. Your offering must be only for God and will be pleasing to him. This offering of yourselves is the spiritual way for you to worship (serve) God.


God called this a new agreement, {\cf2\super [90]} so God has made the first agreement {\cf2\super [91]} old. And anything that is old and useless is ready to disappear.
