43 So, on that special day, the priests offered many sacrifices. {\cf2\super [77]} Everyone was very happy. God had made everyone happy. Even the women and children were excited and happy. People far away could hear the happy sounds coming from Jerusalem.

All the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their babies, wives, and children.


Then Jehoshaphat led all the men from Judah and Jerusalem back home to Jerusalem. The Lord made them very happy because their enemies were defeated.


On the 23rd day of the seventh month Solomon sent the people back to their homes. The people were very happy and their hearts were full of joy, because the Lord was so good to David, to Solomon, and to his people Israel.


The sound could be heard far away. All those people made so much noise that no person could tell the difference between the shouts of joy and the crying.


The people dedicated the wall of Jerusalem. They brought all the Levites to Jerusalem. The Levites came from the towns they lived in. They came to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem. The Levites came to sing songs of praise and thanks to God. They played their cymbals, {\cf2\super [73]} harps, and lyres. {\cf2\super [74]}


Then these priests stood in their places in the temple: Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malkijah, Elam, and Ezer.


But if God decides not to help them,\par then no person can judge God guilty.\par If God hides himself from people,\par then no person can find him.\par God is the ruler over people and nations.\par


My enemies have surrounded me.\par But the Lord will help me defeat them!\par Then I will offer sacrifices {\cf2\super [164]} in his tent. {\cf2\super [165]} \par I will give the sacrifices\par with shouts of joy.\par I will sing and play songs\par to honor the Lord.\par


The Lord is my strength.\par He is my shield.\par I trusted him.\par And he helped me.\par I am very happy!\par And I sing songs of praise to him.\par


You make me so very happy.\par God Most-High, I praise your name.\par


Lord, you make us truly happy\par with the things you did.\par We gladly sing about those things.\par


God sent me to the sad people of Zion. \{I will get them ready for the celebration.\} I will take away the ashes on their head, and I will give them a crown. I will take away their sadness, and I will give them the oil of happiness. I will take away their sorrow, and I will give them celebration clothes. God sent me to name those people ‘Good Trees’ and ‘The Lord’s Wonderful Plant.’


Then the young women of Israel\par will be happy and dance.\par And the young men and old men\par will join in the dancing.\par I will change their sadness into happiness.\par I will comfort the people of Israel.\par I will change their sadness to happiness.\par


There will be sounds of joy and happiness. There will be the happy sounds of a bride and groom. There will be the sounds of people bringing their gifts to the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [278]} Those people will say, ‘Praise the Lord All-Powerful! The Lord is good! The Lord’s kindness continues forever!’ The people will say these things because I will again do good things to Judah. It will be like in the beginning.” The Lord said these things.


Also you should blow these trumpets for your special meetings, new moon days, and all your happy times together. Blow the trumpets when you give your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. This will be a special way for the Lord your God to remember you. I command you to do this; I am the Lord your God.”


The leading priests and the teachers of the law saw what Jesus did. They saw that Jesus was doing great things and saw the children praising Jesus in the temple area. The children were saying, “Praise {\cf2\super [290]} to the Son of David. {\cf2\super [291]} ” All these things made the priests and the teachers of the law angry.


Some of the people were walking ahead of Jesus. Other people were walking behind Jesus. The people shouted,


It is the same with you. Now you are sad. But I will see you again and you will be truly happy. You will have a happiness that no one can take away.


Communicate to each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.


Are you having troubles? You should pray. Are you happy? You should sing.


When the Lord’s Box of the Agreement [43] came into the camp, all the Israelites gave a great shout. That shout made the ground shake.
