The men surrounding the house answered, “Then, you come here!” The men said to themselves, “This man Lot came to our city as a visitor. Now he wants to tell us how we should live!” Then the men said to Lot, “We will do worse things to you than to them.” So the men started moving closer and closer to Lot. They were about to break down the door.


Tell them to put Micaiah in prison. Give him only bread and water to eat. Keep him there until I come home from the fight.”


Jehu went back to his king’s officers. One of the officers said to Jehu, “Is everything all right? Why did this crazy man come to you?”


The Lord, the Holy One of Israel,\par the Protector of Israel says,\par “My Servant is humble.\par He serves rulers.\par But people hate him.\par But, kings will see him,\par and stand \{to honor him\}.\par Great leaders will bow down to him.”\par


People made fun of him, and his friends left him. He was a man that had much pain. He knew sickness very well. People did not even give him the honor of looking at him. We did not even notice him.


The Pharisees {\cf2\super [169]} heard the people saying this. The Pharisees said, “This man uses the power of Beelzebul (the devil) to force demons {\cf2\super [170]} out of people. Beelzebul is the ruler of demons.”


Then the high priest {\cf2\super [415]} stood and said to Jesus, “These people have said things against you. Do you have something to say about these charges against you? Are these people telling the truth?”


Then Peter left the yard. At the gate, another girl saw him. The girl said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”


and said, “You said you could destroy the temple and build it again in three days. So save yourself! Come down from that cross, if you are really the Son of God!”


So Judas threw the money into the temple. {\cf2\super [422]} Then Judas left that place and hanged himself.


“We heard this man (Jesus) say, ‘I will destroy this temple {\cf2\super [215]} that men made. And three days later, I will build another temple—a temple not made by men.’”


People walked by and said bad things to Jesus. They shook their heads and said, “You said you could destroy the temple {\cf2\super [227]} and build it again in three days.


They began to accuse Jesus. They told Pilate, “We caught this man trying to change the thinking of our people. He says we should not pay taxes to Caesar. {\cf2\super [369]} He calls himself the Christ, {\cf2\super [370]} a king.”


We know that God spoke to Moses. But we don’t even know where this man (Jesus) comes from!”


Some of the Epicurean and some of the Stoic philosophers {\cf2\super [353]} argued with him.


The Jews said to Gallio, “This man is teaching people to worship God in a way that is against our \{Jewish\} law!”


The people stopped listening when Paul said this last thing \{about going to the non-Jewish people\}. They all shouted, “Kill him! Get him out of the world! A man like this should not be allowed to live!”
