After Jesus said good-bye to the people, he went up into the hills. Jesus went there alone to pray. It was late, and Jesus was there alone.


When you pray, you should go into your room and close the door. Then pray to your Father. He is there in that secret place. Your Father can see the things that are done in secret. And he will reward you.


The next morning, Jesus woke up very early. Jesus left the house while it was still dark. He went to a place to be alone and pray.


That night, the boat was still in the middle of the lake. Jesus was alone on the land.


At that time Jesus went out to a mountain to pray. He stayed there all night praying to God.


Paul stayed with the brothers (believers) for many days. Then he left and sailed for Syria. Priscilla and Aquila were also with him. At Cenchrea, Paul cut off his hair. {\cf2\super [368]} \{This showed that\} he had made a promise (vow) to God.


Paul left them and said, “I will come back to you again if God wants me to.” And so Paul sailed away from Ephesus.


But I had no peace because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said good-bye and went to Macedonia.


That is what you were called to do. Christ gave you an example to follow. You should do the same as he did. \{You should be patient when you suffer,\} because Christ suffered for you.
