Every year at the Passover {\cf2\super [224]} time the governor would free one person from the prison. He would free any person the people wanted him to free.


The people came to Pilate and asked him to free a prisoner like he always did.


The people wanted Barabbas to go free. Barabbas was in jail for starting a riot and for killing people. Pilate let Barabbas go free. And Pilate gave Jesus to the people to be killed. This is what the people wanted.
