At noon the whole country became dark. This darkness continued for three hours.


At noon the whole country became dark. This darkness continued until three o’clock.


At three o’clock Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani.” This means, “My God, my God, why have you left me alone?” {\cf2\super [229]}


It was about noon, but the whole area became dark until three o’clock in the afternoon.


It was now almost noon on Preparation day {\cf2\super [242]} of Passover {\cf2\super [243]} week. Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your king!”


These men are not drunk like you think; it is only nine o’clock in the morning!
