We will all die some day. We will be like water that is spilled on the ground. No person can gather this water back from the ground. You know God forgives people. God made plans for people who are forced to run away for safety—God doesn’t force them to run away from him!


He will not be afraid of bad news.\par That person is confident\par because he trusts the Lord.\par


But even if an army is all around me,\par I will not be afraid.\par Even if people attack me in war,\par \{I will not be afraid\}.\par Why? Because I trust the Lord.\par


“Every person is saying that other people are making plans against him. You should not believe those things. Don’t be afraid of the things those people fear. Don’t be afraid of those things!”


“Don’t be sad, my people.\par Rumors will spread, but don’t be afraid.\par One rumor comes this year.\par Another rumor will come next year.\par There will be rumors about terrible fighting\par in the country.\par There will be rumors about rulers fighting\par against other rulers.\par


I feel sorry for the people in the world because of the things that make people sin. Those things must happen. But it will be very bad for the person that causes those things to happen.


King Herod {\cf2\super [18]} heard about this new king of the Jews. Herod was troubled about this. And all the people in Jerusalem were worried too.


Many people will come and use my name. They will say, ‘I am the One.’ And they will fool many people.


Nations will fight against other nations. Kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be times when there is no food for people to eat. And there will be earthquakes in different places. These things are like the first pains when something new is born.


Jesus said, “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God. And trust in me.


“I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.


Paul explained these Scriptures to the Jews. He showed that the Christ {\cf2\super [347]} must die and then rise from death. Paul said “This man Jesus that I am telling you about is the Christ.”
