A person that hides his sins will not be successful. But a person that confesses his sins and stops doing wrong will receive mercy.


Many, many people followed Jesus. These people were from Galilee, the Ten Towns, {\cf2\super [57]} Jerusalem, Judea, and the area across the Jordan River.


So John the Baptizer came and was baptizing people in the desert area. He told the people to be baptized {\cf2\super [5]} to show they wanted to change their lives. Then their sins would be forgiven.


John wore clothes made from camel’s hair. John had a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts {\cf2\super [6]} and wild honey.


These things all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan River. This is where John was baptizing {\cf2\super [20]} people.


John was also baptizing people in Aenon. Aenon is near Salim. John was baptizing there because there was plenty of water. People were going there to be baptized.


John was like a lamp that burned and gave light. And you were happy to enjoy his light for a while.


Many of the believers began to confess and tell all the bad things they had done.


Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, {\cf2\super [42]} each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Then God will forgive your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [43]}


Always tell each other the wrong things you have done. Then pray for each other. Do this so that God can heal you. When a good person prays hard, great things happen.


Then Joshua said to Achan, “Son, {say your prayers}. You should honor the Lord God of Israel and confess your sins to him. Tell me what you did, and don’t try to hide anything from me!”
