Jesus did not stay in Nazareth. He went and lived in Capernaum, a town near the lake (Lake Galilee). Capernaum is in the area near Zebulun and Naphtali.


Jesus went everywhere in the country of Galilee. Jesus taught in the synagogues {\cf2\super [54]} and told the Good News about the kingdom of heaven. And Jesus healed all the people’s diseases and sicknesses.


Their father Zebedee and the men that worked for him were in the boat with the brothers. When Jesus saw the brothers he told them to come. They left their father and followed Jesus.


Jesus and the followers left the synagogue. {\cf2\super [14]} They all went with James and John to the home of Simon {\cf2\super [15]} and Andrew.


All the people in the town gathered at the door of that house.


So Jesus traveled everywhere in Galilee. He spoke in the synagogues. {\cf2\super [19]} And he forced demons {\cf2\super [20]} to leave people.


Then Jesus left that place. He went into the area of Judea and across the Jordan River. Again, many people came to him. And Jesus taught the people like he always did.


A few days later, Jesus came back to Capernaum. {\cf2\super [23]} The news spread that Jesus was back home.


Another time Jesus went into the synagogue. {\cf2\super [40]} In the synagogue there was a man with a crippled hand.


On the Sabbath day {\cf2\super [60]} Jesus taught in the synagogue. {\cf2\super [61]} Many people heard him teach and were amazed. These people said, “Where did this man get this teaching? How did he get this wisdom? Who gave it to him? And where did he get the power to do miracles {\cf2\super [62]} ? \{Surely, not from God!\}


And you, Capernaum, {\cf2\super [186]} will you be lifted up to heaven? No! You will be thrown down to the place of death!


Jesus taught in one of the synagogues {\cf2\super [234]} on the Sabbath day. {\cf2\super [235]}


Jesus traveled to Nazareth, the town where he grew up. On the Sabbath day {\cf2\super [69]} he went to the synagogue {\cf2\super [70]} like he always did. Jesus stood up to read.


Jesus said to them, “I know that you will tell me the old saying: ‘Doctor, heal yourself.’ You want to say, ‘We heard about some things that you did in Capernaum. Do those same things here in your own home town!’”


Paul went into this synagogue to see the Jews. This is what he always did. Every Sabbath day {\cf2\super [345]} for three weeks Paul talked with the Jews about the Scriptures. {\cf2\super [346]}


Every Sabbath day {\cf2\super [359]} Paul talked with the Jews and Greeks in the synagogue. {\cf2\super [360]} Paul tried to persuade these people \{to believe in Jesus\}.
