29 The people got up and forced Jesus to go out of town. Their town was built on a hill. They brought Jesus to the edge of the hill. The people wanted to throw him off.

The army of Judah also captured 10,000 men from Seir. They took those men from Seir to the top of a cliff. Those men were still alive. Then the army of Judah threw down those men from the top of the cliff and their bodies were broken on the rocks below.


Bad people get their swords\par and aim their bows.\par They want to kill poor, helpless people.\par They want to kill good, honest people.\par


Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must die. All the people must throw stones at him outside the camp.”


All the people in the synagogue {\cf2\super [78]} heard these things. They became very, very angry.


I know you are Abraham’s {\cf2\super [137]} people. But you want to kill me. Why? Because you don’t want to accept my teaching.


I am a man who has told you the truth I heard from God. But you are trying to kill me. Abraham did nothing like that.


When Jesus said this, the people picked up rocks to throw at him. But Jesus hid, and then he left the temple {\cf2\super [151]} area.


So Jesus also suffered outside the city. Jesus died to make his people holy {\cf2\super [177]} with his own blood (death).
