¹⁷ Then the priest must tear the bird by its wings, but he must not divide the bird {into two parts}. The priest must burn the bird on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire. Its smell pleases the Lord.

Leviticus 1:13
