I came home and found no one there.\par I called and called,\par but no one answered.\par Do you think I am not able to save you?\par I have the power to save you\par from all of your troubles.\par Look, if I command the sea to dry up,\par then it will become dry!\par The fish will die without water,\par and their bodies will rot.\par


Who really believed the things we announced? Who really accepted the Lord’s punishment?


I made David a witness of my power\par for all nations.\par I promised David that he would become\par a ruler and a commander of many nations.”\par


“I stood ready to accept people that turned against me. I was waiting for those people to come to me. But they continued living a way that is not good. They did anything their hearts wanted to do.


“My Father has given me all things. No person knows the Son—only the Father knows the Son. And no person knows the Father—only the Son knows the Father. And the only people that will know about the Father are those people the Son chooses to tell.


“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets. {\cf2\super [361]} You kill with rocks those men that God sent to you. Many, many times I wanted to help your people. I wanted to gather your people together like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. But you did not let me.


“My Father has given me all things. No person knows who the Son is—only the Father knows. And only the Son knows who the Father is. The only people that will know about the Father are those people the Son chooses to tell.”


He came to the world that was his own. But his own people did not accept him.


No man has ever seen God. But the only Son (Jesus) is God. He is very close to the Father {\cf2\super [7]} (God). And the Son has shown us what God is like.


Why? Because the things I taught were not from myself. The Father (God) who sent me told me what to say and what to teach.


But the person that does not love me does not obey my teaching. This teaching that you hear is not really mine. It is from my Father who sent me.


I have told you about things here on earth. But you do not believe me. So surely you will not believe me if I tell you about the things of heaven!


The only one that has ever gone up to heaven is the One that came down from heaven—the Son of Man. {\cf2\super [48]}


Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. A person must be born again. If a person is not born again, then that person cannot be in God’s kingdom.”


But Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. A person must be born from water and the Spirit. {\cf2\super [47]} If a person is not born from water and the Spirit, then he cannot enter God’s kingdom.


I have come from my Father—I speak for him. But you don’t accept me. But when another person comes speaking only for himself, you will accept him.


Jesus answered, “The things I teach are not my own. My teaching comes from him (God) who sent me.


Jesus answered, “Yes, I am saying these things about myself. But people can believe these things I say. Why? Because I know where I came from. And I know where I am going. But you don’t know where I came from or where I am going.


I have many things I could say to judge you. But I tell people only the things I have heard from the One that sent me. And he speaks the truth.”


I am telling you what my Father has shown me. But you do the things that your father has told you.”


I saw Jesus, and Jesus said to me: ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem now! The people here will not accept the truth about me.’


The ruler {\cf2\super [17]} of this world (the devil) has blinded the minds of people who don’t believe. They cannot see the light (truth) of the Good News—the Good News about the glory of Christ. Christ is the One who is exactly like God.


and from Jesus Christ. Jesus is the faithful witness. He was first among those to be raised from death. Jesus is the ruler of the kings of the earth.
