The temple was finished in the month of Bul, the eighth month of the year. This was during the eleventh year that Solomon ruled over the people. It took seven years to build the temple. The temple was built exactly the way it was planned.


So Sheshbazzar came and built the foundations of God’s temple in Jerusalem. From that day until now the work has continued. But it is not yet finished.


Jesus left the temple {\cf2\super [363]} area and was walking away. But his followers came to him to show him the temple’s buildings.


Some of the followers were talking about the temple. {\cf2\super [331]} They said, “This is a beautiful temple, built with the best stones. Look at the many good gifts that have been offered to God!”


The Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent some priests and Levites {\cf2\super [8]} to John. {\cf2\super [9]} The Jews sent them to ask, “Who are you?”
