If a person tells a lie, then those words are wasted quickly. But the truth will live forever.


A short time later, some people standing there went to Peter and said, “We know you are one of those men that followed Jesus. We know this because of the way you talk.”


A short time later, another person saw Peter and said, “You are also one of those people that follow him (Jesus).”


When Jesus finished praying, he left with his followers. They went across the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden \{of olive trees\}. Jesus and his followers went there.


Simon Peter had a sword. He took out the sword and struck the servant of the high priest. {\cf2\super [227]} Peter cut off the servant’s right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
