Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, then go and sell all the things you own. Give the money to the poor people. If you do this, you will have a rich treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me!”


Do you truly believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The things I have told you don’t come from me. The Father lives in me, and he is doing his own work.


“If you love me, then you will do the things I command.


“I have told you all these things while I am with you.


I tell you the truth. We talk about what we know. We tell about what we have seen. But you people don’t accept what we tell you.


God sent him (Jesus). And he tells the things that God says. God gives \{him\} the Spirit {\cf2\super [56]} fully.


But Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. The Son can do nothing alone. The Son does only what he sees his Father doing. The Son does the same things that the Father does.


The Father’s teaching does not live in you. Why? Because you don’t believe in the One the Father sent.


Jesus answered, “The things I teach are not my own. My teaching comes from him (God) who sent me.


Jesus was still teaching in the temple {\cf2\super [110]} area. Jesus said, “Yes, you know me and you know where I am from. But I have not come by my own authority. I was sent by the One (God) who is true. You don’t know him.


I have many things I could say to judge you. But I tell people only the things I have heard from the One that sent me. And he speaks the truth.”


So Jesus said to them, “You will lift up (kill) the Son of Man. {\cf2\super [134]} Then you will know that I AM. {\cf2\super [135]} You will know that these things I do are not by my own authority (power). You will know that I say only the things that the Father has taught me.


I am telling you what my Father has shown me. But you do the things that your father has told you.”


Jesus said to those Jews, “If God were really your Father, then you would love me. I came from God, and now I am here. I did not come by my own authority. God sent me.
