John 12:46
19 Tagairtí Cros

Lord, the fountain of life flows from you!\par Your light lets us see light.\par

Your God says,\par “Comfort, comfort my people!\par

I will destroy the hills and mountains.\par I will dry up all the plants that grow there.\par I will change rivers to dry land.\par I will dry up pools of water.\par

You will open the eyes of the blind people,\par and they will be able to see.\par Many people are in prison;\par you will free those people.\par Many people live in darkness;\par you will lead them out of that prison.\par

“But, for my followers, goodness will shine on you like the rising sun. And it will bring healing power like the sun’s rays. You will be free and happy, like calves freed from their stalls. {\cf2\super [21]}

Those people live in darkness (sin),\par but they have seen a great light;\par the light has come for those people\par that live in the land that is dark\par like a grave.”\par \i (Isaiah 9:1-2)\i0 \par

He (Jesus) is a light to show your way to the non-Jewish people.\par He will bring honor to your people, Israel (the Jews).”\par

The true Light was coming into the world. This is the true Light that gives light to all people.

People are judged by this fact: The Light (goodness) has come into the world. But people did not want light. They wanted darkness (sin). Why? Because they were doing evil things.

Later, Jesus talked to the people again. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. The person that follows me will never live in darkness. That person will have the light that gives life.”

Jesus said, “I came into this world so that the world could be judged. I came so that blind people {\cf2\super [161]} could see. And I came so that people who think they see will become blind.”

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

You will show the people the Truth. The people will turn away from darkness (sin) to the light (good). They will turn away from the power of Satan, and they will turn to God. Then their sins can be forgiven. They can have a share with those people who have been made holy {\cf2\super [494]} by believing in me.’”

And everything that is made easy to see can become light. This is why we say:
