“Lord, remember that I have truly served you with all my heart. I have done the things that you say are good.” Then Hezekiah cried very hard.


There was a man named Job that lived in the country of Uz. Job was a good and faithful man. Job worshiped God and refused to do evil things.


I will continue to trust God\par even if God kills me. {\cf2\super [23]} \par But I will defend myself to his face.\par


I was never cruel to anyone\par \{but these bad things happened to me\}.\par My prayers are right and pure.\par


But if that is my only hope\par then I have no hope at all.\par If that is my only hope\par then people have found me\par no hope at all.\par


Lord, judge me.\par Prove that I have lived a pure life.\par I never stopped trusting the Lord.\par


But even if an army is all around me,\par I will not be afraid.\par Even if people attack me in war,\par \{I will not be afraid\}.\par Why? Because I trust the Lord.\par


The person who respects the Lord is safe and his children also live in safety.


Jerusalem, you are rich—you are rich with wisdom and knowledge of God. You are rich with salvation. You respect the Lord and that makes you rich. So you can know that you will continue.


So prepare your minds for service, and have self-control. All your hope should be for the gift of grace (kindness) that will be yours when Jesus Christ appears (comes).


You pray to God and call him Father. God judges each man’s work equally. So while you are visiting \{here on earth\}, you should live with fear (respect) for God.
