One time the leaders of Babylon sent messengers to Hezekiah. Those messengers asked about a strange sign that had happened in the nations. {\cf2\super [396]} When they came, God left Hezekiah alone to test him and to know everything that was in Hezekiah’s heart. {\cf2\super [397]}


You have closed my friends’ minds\par and they don’t understand.\par Please don’t let them win.\par


God makes us wiser\par than the birds and animals.\par \{So where is he?\}’\par


An Ostrich leaves her little babies.\par She treats them like they are not hers.\par If her babies die, she doesn’t care\par that all her work was for nothing.\par


But when the ostrich gets up to run,\par she laughs at the horse and its rider,\par because she can run faster than any horse.\par


These people did evil things,\par and it made me angry.\par So, I punished Israel.\par I turned away from him\par because I was angry.\par And Israel left me.\par He went wherever he wanted.\par


“But Sihon, the king of Heshbon, would not let us pass through his country. The Lord your God had made him very stubborn. The Lord did this so he could let you defeat King Sihon. And today, we know that really happened!


Everything good comes from God. And every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky (sun, moon, stars). But God never changes \{like those lights\}. He is always the same.
