These horses and chariots [67] of fire came down to Elisha. Elisha prayed to the Lord and said, “I pray that you will cause these people to become blind.”


People will push him away from light\par into the darkness.\par They will chase him out of this world.\par


“Yes, the evil person’s light will go out.\par His fire will stop burning.\par


“Some people rebel against the light.\par They don’t know what God wants.\par They don’t live the way God wants.\par


If I ever did that, then may my arm\par be pulled from its socket\par and fall from my shoulder!\par


The morning light makes the hills\par and the valleys easy to see.\par When the daylight comes to the earth,\par the shapes of those places stand out\par like the folds of a coat.\par Those places take shape like soft clay\par that is pressed with a stamp.\par


Those smart people stumble around\par even in the daytime.\par Even at noon, they are like a person\par who feels his way in the dark.\par


God saves poor people from death.\par He saves the poor people from\par the power of the clever people.\par


\{Lord,\} destroy the evil people.\par


Why? Because evil people will be destroyed.\par But the Lord cares for good people.\par


But bad people are like a dark night. They are lost in the darkness and they fall over things they can’t see.


Honor the Lord your God.\par Praise him or he will bring darkness.\par Praise him before you fall on the dark hills.\par You people of Judah are hoping for light.\par But the Lord will turn the light into thick darkness.\par The Lord will change the light into a very thick darkness.\par


The Lord my Master says these things, “I am against Pharaoh, king of Egypt. I will break both his arms, the strong arm and the arm that is already broken. I will make the sword fall from his hand.


“But if a person sins and knows that he is doing wrong, then that person is against the Lord. That person must be separated from his people. It is the same for a person born into the family of Israel or for a foreigner living among you.
