Then your life would be brighter\par than the sunshine at noon.\par Life’s darkest hours would shine\par like the morning sun.\par


The light in his house will become dark.\par The lamp next to him will go out.\par


But, how often does God blow out\par the light of evil people?\par How often does trouble come\par to the evil people?\par When does God become angry at them\par and punish them?\par


If you decide to do something,\par it will be successful.\par And your future will be bright indeed!\par


To good people, God is like a light\par shining in the dark.\par God is good and kind and merciful.\par


Lord, you light my lamp.\par My God lights up the darkness around me!\par


With your help, Lord,\par I can run with the soldiers.\par With God’s help,\par I can climb over enemy walls.\par


Even if I walk through a valley\par as dark as the grave, {\cf2\super [140]} \par I will not be afraid of any danger.\par Why? Because you are with me, Lord.\par Your rod and staff {\cf2\super [141]} comfort me.\par


Lord, you are my Light and my Savior.\par I should not be afraid of anyone!\par The Lord is the place of safety for my life.\par So I will not be afraid of any person.\par


Many people say,\par “Who will show us \{God’s\} goodness?\par Lord, let us see your shining face!”\par


The Lord is our protector and glorious king. {\cf2\super [491]} \par God blesses us with kindness and glory.\par The Lord gives every good thing\par to people who follow and obey him.\par


A good person is like a light that shines brightly. But an evil person is like a light that becomes dark.


If a person curses {\cf2\super [28]} his father or mother, then he is like a person whose light stops shinning in the darkest darkness.


Those evil people have no hope. Their light will become dark.


Then God will be a judge for the people of all nations. God will end the arguments for many people. Those people will stop using their weapons for fighting. They will make plows from their swords. And they will use their spears as tools for cutting plants. People will stop fighting against other people. People will never again train for war.


I am light, and I came into this world. I came so that every person that believes in me would not stay in darkness.


Later, Jesus talked to the people again. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. The person that follows me will never live in darkness. That person will have the light that gives life.”


And everything that is made easy to see can become light. This is why we say:


In the past you were \{full of\} darkness (sin), but now you are \{full of\} light (goodness) in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light.
