The Sabean people {\cf2\super [3]} attacked us and took your animals! Those people killed the other servants. I am the only person that escaped. So I came to tell you the news!”


While that messenger was still speaking, another messenger came. This third messenger said, “The Chaldeans sent three groups of soldiers. They attacked us and took the camels! They killed the servants. I am the only person that escaped. So I came to tell you the news!”


Why? Because the evil person\par hurt poor people\par and treated them wrong.\par He didn’t care about them,\par and he took their things.\par He took houses someone else built.\par


“I didn’t steal my land from anyone.\par No one can accuse me of stealing it.\par


Hungry people ate all his crops.\par Those hungry people took even\par the grain growing among the thorns.\par Greedy people took all they had.\par

The leaders of Judah are like thieves\par trying to steal another man’s property.\par So I (God) will pour out my anger\par on them like water.\par


“You must not move the stones that mark your neighbor’s property. People put those stones there in the past to mark each person’s property. Those stones mark the land that the Lord your God gave you.
