You know I am innocent,\par but no one can save me\par from your power!\par


I am ready now to defend myself.\par I will carefully present my arguments.\par I know I will be shown to be right.\par


But I don’t want to argue with you. I want to speak to God All-Powerful. I want to argue with God about my troubles.


I was never cruel to anyone\par \{but these bad things happened to me\}.\par My prayers are right and pure.\par


He speaks to God for me\par like a person {\cf2\super [31]} arguing for his friend.\par


But God knows me.\par He is testing me and he will see\par that I am as pure as gold.\par


I will never admit that you men are right.\par I will continue saying I am innocent\par until the day I die.\par


“Job, you argued with God All-Powerful.\par You judged me guilty of doing wrong.\par Now, will you admit that you are wrong?\par Will you answer me!”\par


“Job, do you think that I am not fair?\par You say that I am guilty of doing wrong\par so that you will appear innocent!\par


“My days go by faster\par than a weaver’s shuttle. {\cf2\super [13]} \par And my life ends without hope.\par


Even if I walk through a valley\par as dark as the grave, {\cf2\super [140]} \par I will not be afraid of any danger.\par Why? Because you are with me, Lord.\par Your rod and staff {\cf2\super [141]} comfort me.\par


During times of trouble, evil people are defeated. But good people win a victory even during death.


While Jonah was in the fish’s stomach, he prayed to the Lord his God. Jonah said,


But I will still be glad in the Lord.\par I will rejoice in God my savior.\par
