The sad message about Egypt: Look! The Lord is coming on a fast cloud. The Lord will enter Egypt, and all the false gods of Egypt will shake \{with fear. Egypt was brave\}, but that courage will melt away like hot wax.

All the idols (false gods) will be gone.

Bel {\cf2\super [407]} and Nebo, {\cf2\super [408]} will bow down before me. \{Those false gods are only statues.\} Men put those statues on the backs of animals—those statues are only heavy burdens that must be carried. The false gods do nothing but make people tired.

I could tell about your ‘good works’\par and all the ‘religious’ things you do;\par but those things are useless!\par

\{The Lord says,\}\par “Tell this message to those people:\par ‘Those false gods did not make\par heaven and earth.\par And those false gods will be destroyed\par and disappear from heaven and earth.’” {\cf2\super [81]} \par

People are so stupid!\par Metal workers are fooled by the idols\par that they themselves made.\par Those statues are nothing but lies.\par They are stupid. {\cf2\super [82]} \par

Those idols are worth nothing.\par They are something to make fun of.\par In the time of judgment,\par those idols will be destroyed.\par

All the people of the other nations are stupid and foolish.\par Their teachings come from worthless wooden statues.\par

But my people have forgotten about me.\par They make offerings to worthless idols.\par My people stumble in the things they do.\par They stumble about in the old paths\par of their ancestors. {\cf2\super [153]} \par My people would rather walk\par along back roads and poor highways,\par than to follow me on the good roads.\par

The Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, says: “Very soon I will punish Amon, {\cf2\super [369]} the god of Thebes. And I will punish Pharaoh, Egypt, and her gods. I will punish the kings of Egypt. And I will punish the people that depend on Pharaoh.
