Those men from the family groups of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad prayed to God in the war. They asked God to help them because they trusted him. So God helped them. God allowed them to defeat the Hagrite people. And they also defeated those other people who were with the Hagrite people.


God will save you from death\par when there is famine.\par And God will protect you from death\par when there is war.\par


The Lord is happy with people\par who worship him.\par The Lord is pleased with people\par who trust in his true love.\par


Show that you are loyal to God’s son. {\cf2\super [6]} \par If you don’t do this,\par he will become angry and destroy you.\par


The Lord watches and cares\par for his followers that wait for him\par to show his true love.\par


The Lord saves the souls of his servants.\par Those people depend on him.\par He won’t let them be destroyed.\par


If you trust the Lord and do good things,\par you will live and enjoy the many things\par that the land gives.\par


Lord All-Powerful,\par people who trust you are truly happy!\par


You will defeat 1,000 enemies.\par Your own right hand will defeat\par 10,000 enemy soldiers.\par Your enemies will not even touch you!\par


Lord, you give true peace\par to people who depend on you,\par to people who trust you.\par


Any person that stays in Jerusalem will die. That person will die by a sword, or from hunger, or from a terrible sickness. But any person that goes out of Jerusalem and surrenders to the Babylonian army will live! That army has surrounded the city. So no person can bring food into the city. But any person that leaves the city will save his life.


“This is what the Lord says: ‘Everyone that stays in Jerusalem will die by a sword, or hunger, or terrible sickness. But everyone that surrenders to the army of Babylon will live. Those people will escape with their lives.’


People that have the law {\cf2\super [14]} and people that have never heard of the law are all the same when they sin. People that don’t have the law and are sinners will be lost. And, in the same way, people that have the law and are sinners will be judged by the law.


We Jews were the first people who hoped in Christ. And we were chosen so that we would bring praise to God’s glory.


You believe in God through Christ. God raised Christ from death. Then God gave glory to him. So your faith and your hope are in God.
