Jeremiah 38:21

Zedekiah didn’t do the things the Lord wanted him to do. Zedekiah sinned against the Lord. Jeremiah the prophet spoke messages from the Lord. But Zedekiah didn’t humble himself and obey the things Jeremiah said.

“But God never changes.\par No person can stand against God.\par God does anything he wants.\par

“Job, you want God to reward you.\par But you refuse to change.\par Job, it is your decision, not mine.\par Tell me what you think.\par

Then the Lord said to Moses, “How long will you people refuse to obey my commands and teachings?

But if you kill me, be sure of one thing. You will be guilty of killing an innocent person. You will make this city and everyone that lives in it guilty, too. The Lord really did send me to you. The message you heard really is from the Lord.”

But Jeremiah answered, “The soldiers will not give you to those men of Judah. King Zedekiah, obey the Lord by doing what I tell you. Then things will go well for you, and your life will be saved.

All the women that are left in the house of the king of Judah will be brought out. They will be brought to the important officials of the king of Babylon. Your women will make fun of you with a song. This is what the women will say:

Lord, I know that you want people\par to be loyal to you.\par You hit the people of Judah,\par but they did not feel any pain.\par You destroyed them,\par but they refused to learn their lesson.\par They became very stubborn.\par They refused to be sorry\par for the bad things they did.\par

You must tell them the things I say. I know they won’t listen to you. And they won’t stop sinning against me! Why? Because they are a rebellious people.

‘Balak can give me his most beautiful house filled with silver and gold. But I can still say only the things that the Lord commands me to say. I cannot do anything myself, good or bad. I must say what the Lord commands.’ Surely you remember that I told your men these things.

But the Jews there would not accept Paul’s teaching. They said some very bad things. So Paul shook off the dust from his clothes. {\cf2\super [363]} He said to the Jews, “If you are not saved, it will be your own fault! I have done all I can do! After this, I will go only to non-Jewish people!”

Be careful and don’t refuse to listen when God speaks. Those people (Israelites) refused to listen to him when he warned them on earth. And those people did not escape. Now God is speaking from heaven. So now it will be worse for those people who refuse to listen to him.
