Jeremiah 35:13
12 Tagairtí Cros

Listen to advice and accept discipline. Then you will become wise.

Accept my discipline.\par It is worth more than silver.\par It is worth more than the best gold.\par

Did any of you people listen to \{God’s\} words? No! But you should listen very closely to his words \{and think about what happened\}.

This is the message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah and all the people of Jerusalem:

“Those people should have come to me for help. But they turned their backs to me. I tried to teach those people again and again. But they would not listen to me. I tried to correct them, but they would not listen.

Then the message from the Lord came to Jeremiah:

Lord, I know that you want people\par to be loyal to you.\par You hit the people of Judah,\par but they did not feel any pain.\par You destroyed them,\par but they refused to learn their lesson.\par They became very stubborn.\par They refused to be sorry\par for the bad things they did.\par

Is there a man that is wise enough to understand these things?\par Is there some person that has been taught by the Lord?\par Can anyone explain the Lord’s message?\par Why was the land ruined?\par Why was it made like an empty desert where no people go?\par

Be careful and don’t refuse to listen when God speaks. Those people (Israelites) refused to listen to him when he warned them on earth. And those people did not escape. Now God is speaking from heaven. So now it will be worse for those people who refuse to listen to him.
