{\cf2\super [97]} “Why is my lover (Judah)\par in my house (temple)?\par She has no right to be there.\par She had done many evil things.\par Judah, do you think that special promises\par and animal sacrifices will stop you\par from being destroyed?\par Do you think you can escape punishment\par by offering sacrifices to me?”\par
But I still brought them to the land I promised to give to them. They saw all the hills and green trees, so they went to all those places to worship. Jesus said, “It will be bad for you Chorazin. {\cf2\super [145]} It will be bad for you Bethsaida. {\cf2\super [146]} I did many miracles in you. If those same miracles had happened in Tyre and Sidon, {\cf2\super [147]} then those people in Tyre and Sidon would have changed their lives a long time ago. Those people would have worn sackcloth {\cf2\super [148]} and put ashes on themselves to show that they were sorry for their sins.
I am afraid that when I come to you again, my God will make me humble before you. I may be saddened by many of you who have sinned. I may be saddened because those people have not changed their hearts to be sorry for their evil lives, for their sexual sins, and for the shameful things they have done.
