The Lord’s power is on this mountain.\par And Moab {\cf2\super [239]} will be defeated.\par The Lord will trample (walk on) the enemy.\par It will be like walking on straw\par in a pile of waste.\par


Then poor and humble people will walk\par on those ruins.\par


Look at Samaria!\par The drunk people of Ephraim\par are proud of that city.\par That city sits on a hill\par with a rich valley around it.\par The people of Samaria think their city\par is a beautiful crown of flowers.\par But they are drunk with wine.\par And this “Beautiful Crown”\par is just a dying plant.\par


Your agreement with death will be erased. Your contract with Sheol {\cf2\super [261]} will not help you.


You people rise early in the morning and go looking for beer to drink. You stay awake late at night, becoming drunk with wine.


\{He answers,\}\par “I walked in the winepress {\cf2\super [459]} by myself.\par No one helped me.\par I was angry and I walked on the grapes.\par The juice {\cf2\super [460]} splashed on my clothes.\par So now my clothes are dirty.\par


Then every person in Ephraim (Israel), even the leaders in Samaria, will know that God \{punished them\}.


“The Lord rejected all my strong soldiers.\par Those soldiers were inside the city.\par Then the Lord brought a group of people against me.\par He brought those people to kill my young soldiers.\par The Lord has stepped on the grapes in the winepress.\par


Then I heard one of the holy ones {\cf2\super [91]} speaking. Then I heard another holy one answer the first one. The first holy one said, “This vision {\cf2\super [92]} shows what will happen to the daily sacrifice. It is about that terrible sin that destroys. It shows what will happen when people destroy the place where the Ruler is worshiped. It shows what will happen when those people step all over that place. It shows what will happen when the people step all over those stars. But how long will these things happen?”


So what do you think should be done to a person who shows his hate for the Son of God? Surely that person should have a much worse punishment. Yes, that person should have a worse punishment for not showing respect for the blood (Jesus’ death) that began the new agreement. {\cf2\super [137]} That blood once made that person holy. And that person should have a worse punishment for showing his hate against the Spirit {\cf2\super [138]} of God’s grace (kindness).


But don’t measure the yard outside the temple. Leave that alone. That has been given to the people who are not Jews. Those people will walk on the holy city for 42 months.
