Hebrews 2:9 - Easy To Read Version

9 For a short time Jesus was made lower than the angels, but now we see him wearing a crown of glory and honor because he suffered and died. Because of God’s grace (kindness) Jesus died for every person.

I tell you the truth. There are some people standing here that will see the Son of Man coming with his kingdom before they die.”


“And why do you worry about clothes? Look at the flowers in the field. See how they grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves.


Then Jesus said, “I tell you the truth. Some of you people standing here will see the kingdom of God come before you die. The kingdom of God will come with power.”


I tell you the truth. Some of you people standing here will see the kingdom of God before you die.”


The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. John said, “Look, the Lamb of God. {\cf2\super [21]} He takes away the sins of the world!


The Father loves me because I give my life. I give my life so that I can get it back again.


I will be lifted up from the earth. And when this happens, I will bring all people to me.”


Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that every person that believes in him would not be lost, but have life forever.


I tell you the truth. If a person continues to obey my teaching, then that person will never die.”


The Jews said to Jesus, “Now we know that you have a demon {\cf2\super [143]} in you! Even Abraham {\cf2\super [144]} and the prophets {\cf2\super [145]} died. But you say, ‘The person that obeys my teaching will never die.’


Jesus was lifted up to heaven. Now Jesus is with God, at God’s right side. The Father (God) has now given the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [37]} to Jesus. The Holy Spirit is what God promised to give. So now Jesus is pouring out (giving) that Spirit. This is what you see and hear.


No! God did it! He is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. {\cf2\super [52]} He is the God of all our fathers. {\cf2\super [53]} He gave glory to Jesus, his special servant. But you gave Jesus to be killed. Pilate decided to let Jesus go free. But you told Pilate you did not want Jesus.


So one sin \{of Adam\} brought the punishment \{of death\} to all people. But in the same way, one good thing \{that Christ did\} makes all people right with God. And that brings true life for those people.


But Christ died for us while we were still sinners. In that way God showed us that he loves us very much.


The law {\cf2\super [61]} was without power because the law was made weak by our sinful selves. But God did what the law could not do. God sent his own Son to earth with the same human life that other people use for sin. God sent his Son to be an offering to pay for sin. So God used a human life to condemn (destroy) sin.


He even let his own Son suffer for us. God gave his Son for us all. So with Jesus now, God will surely give us all things.


Christ died for all people so that the people who live would not continue to live for themselves. He died for them and was raised from death so that those people would live for him.


But when the right time came, God sent his Son. God’s Son was born from a woman. God’s Son lived under the law. {\cf2\super [48]}


Jesus gave himself to pay for \{the sins of\} all people. Jesus is proof \{that God wants all people to be saved\}. And he came at the right time.


You love the right,\par and you hate the wrong.\par So God, your God, has given you\par a greater joy than he gave the people with you.”\par \i (Psalm 45:6-7)\i0 \par


So when Christ came into the world he said:


Enoch was carried away from this earth. He never died. The Scripture {\cf2\super [144]} says that, before Enoch was carried off, he was a man who truly pleased God. Later, people could not find Enoch, because God took Enoch to be with him. This happened to Enoch because he had faith.


We should always follow the example of Jesus. Jesus is the leader in our faith. And he makes our faith perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But Jesus accepted the shame of the cross like it was nothing. He did this because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.


For a short time you made him lower\par than the angels.\par You gave him glory and honor\par to be his crown.\par


So Christ can save those people who come to God through him. Christ can do this forever, because he always lives, ready to help people when they come before God.


Every high priest {\cf2\super [80]} has the work of offering gifts and sacrifices {\cf2\super [81]} to God. So our high priest must also offer something to God.


You believe in God through Christ. God raised Christ from death. Then God gave glory to him. So your faith and your hope are in God.


Jesus is the way our sins are taken away. And Jesus is the way that all people can have their sins taken away, too.


His eyes are like burning fire. He has many crowns on his head. He has a name written on him, but he is the only one who knows the name. No other person knows the name.


And they all sang a new song \{to the Lamb\}:
