Galatians 6:14 - Easy To Read Version

14 I hope I will never boast about things like that. The cross (death) of our Lord Jesus Christ is my only reason for boasting. Through Jesus’ death on the cross the world is dead {\cf2\super [80]} to me; and I am dead to the world.

Some people think their strength and wealth will protect them.\par But those people are fools.\par


Big man, why do you brag about\par the bad things you do?\par You are a continual disgrace to God.\par


“Son of man, {\cf2\super [233]} say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘The Lord my Master says these things:


He will come and kill those farmers! Then he will lease the land to some other farmers.”


I am proud of the Good News. The Good News is the power God uses to save every person that believes—to save the Jews first, and also to save the non-Jews.


No! We died to (quit living) our old sinful lives. So how can we continue living with sin?


We know that our old life died with Christ on the cross. This happened so that our sinful selves would have no power over us. And then we would not be slaves to sin.


But this is the message we tell everyone: Christ was killed on a cross. This message is a big problem to the Jews. And the non-Jews think it is foolish.


So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don’t let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.


I decided that while I was with you I would forget about everything except Jesus Christ and his death on the cross.


So you should not boast about men. All things are yours:


And I will continue doing what I am doing now. I will continue this because I want to stop those people from having a reason to boast. They would like to say that the work they boast about is the same as ours.


Jesus gave himself for our sins. Jesus did this to free us from this evil world we live in. This is what God the Father wanted.


We Jews came to Christ to be made right with God. So it is clear that we were sinners too. Does this mean that Christ makes us sinners? No!


I stopped living for the law. It was the law that killed me. I died to the law so that I can now live for God. I (my old life) was killed on the cross with Christ.


So the life that I live now is not really me—it is Christ living in me. I still live in my body, but I live by faith in the Son of God (Jesus). Jesus is the One who loved me. He gave himself to save me.


Does this mean that the law {\cf2\super [41]} is against God’s promises? No! If there was a law that could give life to people, then we could be made right by following law.


Those people who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified (killed) their own sinful selves. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do.


Many people live like enemies of the cross of Christ. I have often told you about these people. And it makes me cry to tell you about them now.


But we are the people who are truly circumcised. {\cf2\super [16]} We worship (serve) God through his Spirit. {\cf2\super [17]} We are proud to be in Christ Jesus. And we don’t trust in ourselves or anything we can do.


You died with Christ and were made free from the worthless rules of the world. So why do you act like you still belong to this world? I mean, why do you follow rules like these:
