1 Greetings from Paul, an apostle. {\cf2\super [1]} I was chosen to be an apostle, but not by any group of people. My authority did not come from other people. No! It was Jesus Christ and God the Father who made me an apostle. God is the One who raised Jesus from death.

Then Jesus said again, “Peace be with you! The Father sent me. In the same way, I now send you.”


But Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. The Son can do nothing alone. The Son does only what he sees his Father doing. The Son does the same things that the Father does.


I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ The Lord (Jesus) answered, ‘Get up and go into Damascus. There you will be told all the things I have planned for you to do.’


And so you killed the One that gives life! But God raised him from death. We are witnesses of this—we saw this with our own eyes.


Get up now and go into the city. Someone there will tell you what you must do.”


Greetings from Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus. God called me to be an apostle. {\cf2\super [1]} I was chosen to tell God’s Good News {\cf2\super [2]} to all people.


If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from death, then you will be saved.


That is why Christ died and rose from death to live again. Christ did this so that he could be Lord (ruler) over people that have died and people that are living.

But God had special plans for me even before I was born. So God called me with his grace (kindness). God wanted me


I did not go to see the apostles {\cf2\super [7]} in Jerusalem. These men were apostles before I was. But, without waiting, I went away to Arabia. Later I went back to the city of Damascus.


I am the least important of all of God’s people. But God gave me this gift—to tell the non-Jewish people the Good News about the riches Christ has. Those riches are too great to understand fully.


Greetings from Paul, an apostle {\cf2\super [1]} of Christ Jesus. I am an apostle because God wanted me to be. God sent me to tell people about the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus.


At the right time God let the world know about that life. God did this through the telling of the \{Good News\} message. {\cf2\super [2]} And he trusted me with that work. I told people that message because God our Savior commanded me to.


So these eleven men went to Gilead. They went to talk to the people of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh. The eleven men said to them,


You believe in God through Christ. God raised Christ from death. Then God gave glory to him. So your faith and your hope are in God.


I am the One who lives. I was dead, but look: I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. {\cf2\super [11]}


and from Jesus Christ. Jesus is the faithful witness. He was first among those to be raised from death. Jesus is the ruler of the kings of the earth.
