Ezra 6:17 - Easy To Read Version

17 This is the way they dedicated {\cf2\super [36]} God’s temple: They offered 100 bulls, 200 rams, and 400 male lambs. And they offered twelve male goats for all Israel for a sin offering. That is one goat for each of the twelve family groups of Israel.

Elijah found twelve stones. There was one stone for each of the twelve family groups. These twelve family groups were named for the twelve sons of Jacob. Jacob was the man that the Lord had called Israel.


Then King Solomon and all the people of Israel with him offered sacrifices to the Lord.


King Solomon offered 22,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep. The king and all the people made the temple {\cf2\super [122]} of God holy. It was to be used only for worshiping God.


Then the Jewish people that came back from captivity offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel. They offered twelve bulls for all Israel, 96 rams, 77 male lambs, and twelve male goats for a sin offering. All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.


If that person learns about his sin, then he must bring a female goat that has nothing wrong with it. That will be the person’s sin offering. He must bring this goat for the sin that he has done.


“If the anointed priest [23] makes a mistake in a way that leaves the people guilty for their sin, then the priest must make an offering to the Lord for his sin. The priest must offer a young bull that has nothing wrong with it. He must offer the young bull to the Lord as a sin offering.


You will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. You will sit on thrones and judge the twelve tribes (family groups) of Israel. {\cf2\super [354]}


The city had a large, high wall with twelve gates. There were twelve angels at the gates. On each gate was written the name of one of the twelve family groups of Israel. {\cf2\super [161]}
