3 Those people were afraid of the other people living near them. But that didn’t stop them. They built the altar on its old foundation and offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord. They offered those sacrifices in the morning and in the evening.

Every morning and evening Zadok and the other priests offered burnt offerings on the altar of burnt offerings. They did this to follow the rules written in the Law of the Lord which the Lord had given Israel.


Solomon used bronze to make an altar. {\cf2\super [50]} That bronze altar was 20 cubits {\cf2\super [51]} long, 20 cubits wide, and 10 cubits {\cf2\super [52]} tall.


\{This made those people angry\}. So those people started bothering the Jews. They tried to discourage them and stop them from building the temple.


Then Cyrus said to Sheshbazzar, {\cf2\super [29]} “Take these gold and silver things and put them back in the temple in Jerusalem. Build again God’s temple in the same place it was in the past.”


The place for the fire on the altar was 12 cubits {\cf2\super [408]} long by 12 cubits wide. It was perfectly square.
