Hezekiah had very much riches and honor. He made places to keep silver, gold, valuable jewels, spices, shields, and all kinds of things.


In the spring, King Nebuchadnezzar sent some servants to get Jehoiachin. They brought Jehoiachin and some valuable treasures from the Lord’s temple {\cf2\super [452]} to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar chose Zedekiah to be the new king of Judah and Jerusalem. Zedekiah was one of Jehoiachin’s relatives.


The Lord has stretched his arm over the sea.\par The Lord is gathering kingdoms\par to fight against Tyre.\par The Lord commands Canaan {\cf2\super [224]} \par to destroy \{Tyre\},\par her place of safety.\par


The city of Tyre has produced many leaders.\par Businessmen from that city are like princes.\par The people that buy and sell things\par are honored everywhere.\par So who made plans against Tyre?\par


Put those clothes of sadness over your sorrow-filled breasts.


Shepherds (leaders), you should be leading\par the sheep (people).\par Start crying you great leaders!\par Roll around on the ground in pain,\par you leaders of the sheep (people).\par Why? The whole Babylonian army broke down the walls around Jerusalem. That army was under the commander of the king’s special guard.


Tyre will become a place by the sea for spreading fishing nets. I have spoken!” The Lord my Master says, “Tyre will be like the valuable things soldiers take in war.


They will bring you down to the grave.\par You will be like a sailor that died at sea.\par


He will take their idol gods. He will take their metal idols and their expensive things made from silver and gold. He will take those things away to Egypt. Then he will not bother the northern king for a few years.

You take unfair taxes {\cf2\super [69]} from poor people.\par You take loads of wheat from them.\par You build fancy houses with cut stone.\par But you will not live in those houses.\par You plant beautiful fields of grapes.\par But you will not drink the wine from them.\par


\{You soldiers that are destroying Nineveh\},\par take the silver!\par Take the gold!\par There are many things to take.\par There are many treasures!\par


I will bring the other nations against them\par like a storm.\par They didn’t know those nations,\par but the country will be destroyed\par after those nations pass through.\par This pleasant country will be destroyed.”\par
