Then even the people who are as brave as a lion will become scared. Why? Because all the Israelites know that your father is a strong fighter and that his men are brave.


So the Lord of Israel says, ‘Look! I will bring so much trouble against Jerusalem and Judah that any person who hears about it will be shocked. [261]


May those people disappear\par like water down a drain.\par May they be crushed like weeds\par on a path. {\cf2\super [343]} \par


The commanders of Edom will shake with fear. The leaders of Moab will be afraid. The people of Canaan will lose courage.


People will lose their courage. Fear will make the people weak.


That person will come and take you away. Your punishment will be terrible. Your punishment will come early in the morning, and it will continue late into the night.


Make the weak arms strong again. Make the weak knees strong.


A message was told to the family of David. {\cf2\super [76]} The message said, “The army of Aram and the army of Ephraim (Israel) have joined together. The two armies are camped together.”

People will be too tired and sad to raise their arms. Their legs will be like water.


King Belshazzar was very afraid. His face became white from fear and his knees were shaking and knocking together. He could not stand up because his legs were too weak.


The survivors [449] will lose their courage in the land of their enemies. They will be scared of everything. They will run around like a leaf being blown by the wind. They will run like someone is chasing them with a sword. They will fall even when no one is chasing them!


Now \{Nineveh\} is empty\par Everything is stolen.\par The city is ruined!\par People have lost their courage,\par their hearts are melting with fear,\par their knees are knocking together,\par their bodies are shaking,\par their faces become pale from fear.\par


People will become afraid. They will be very worried about what will happen to the world. Everything in the sky will be changed.


“Those {Levite} officers must also say to the people, ‘Is there any man here that has lost his courage and is afraid? He should go back home. Then he will not cause the other soldiers to lose their courage too.’


You have become weak. So make yourselves strong again.


So the Lord dried up the Jordan River until the people of Israel finished crossing it. The kings of the Amorites living west of the Jordan River and the Canaanites living by the Mediterranean Sea heard about this and became very scared. After that they were not brave enough to stand and fight against the people of Israel.


The time is near when all things will end. So keep your minds clear, and control yourselves. This will help you to pray.
