The Lord my Master helps me learn, and I have not turned against him. I will not stop following him.


The Lord spoke to me with his great power. The Lord warned me not to be like these other people. {\cf2\super [102]} The Lord said,


So I bought a linen loincloth, {\cf2\super [104]} just as the Lord told me to do. And I put it around my waist.


Your message came to me\par and I ate your words.\par Your message made me very happy.\par I was happy to be called by your name.\par Your name is Lord All-Powerful.\par


“Son of man, {\cf2\super [102]} you live among rebellious people—they always turn against me. They have eyes to see \{the things I have done for them\}. But they don’t see those things. They have ears to hear \{the things I told them to do\}. But they don’t hear my commands. Why? Because they are a rebellious people.


So I (Ezekiel) did as I was commanded. During the day, I took my bags and acted like I was going to a faraway country. That evening I used my hands and made a hole in the wall. During the night I put my bag on my shoulder and left. I did this so all the people could see me.


I rolled the scroll open and there were words written on the front and on the back. There were all kinds of sad songs, sad stories, and warnings.


“Now, Son of man, {\cf2\super [266]} I am choosing you to be a watchman for the family of Israel. If you hear a message from my mouth, you must warn the people for me.


The man said to me, “Son of man, {\cf2\super [309]} use your eyes and ears. Look at these things and listen to me. Pay attention to everything that I show you. Why? Because you have been brought here so I can show you these things. You must tell the family of Israel all that you see.”


Then Moses said to Aaron, “The Lord says, ‘The priests that come near me must respect me! I must be holy to them and to all the people.’” So Aaron did not say anything {about his sons dying}.


\{Jonah did not want to obey God,\} so Jonah tried to run away from the Lord. Jonah went to Joppa. {\cf2\super [3]} Jonah found a boat that was going to the faraway city of Tarshish. {\cf2\super [4]} Jonah paid money for the trip and went on the boat. Jonah wanted to travel with the people on this boat to Tarshish and run away from the Lord.


“{It is time for Aaron to die and} go to be with his ancestors. [272] Aaron will not enter the land that I promised to the people of Israel. Moses, I say this to you because both you and Aaron did not fully obey the command I gave you at the waters of Meribah.


Don’t be like a ruler over those people you are responsible for. But be good examples to those people.


So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. {\cf2\super [78]} The angel said to me, “Take the scroll and eat it. It will be sour in your stomach. But in your mouth it will be sweet like honey.”
