Huram [96] also made ten bowls. There was one bowl for each of the ten carts. Each bowl was 4 cubits [97] across. And each bowl could hold about 230 gallons. [98]


Then Solomon used melted bronze to make a large tank. {\cf2\super [53]} The large tank was round and it measured 10 cubits {\cf2\super [54]} across from edge to edge. And it measured 5 cubits {\cf2\super [55]} tall and 30 cubits {\cf2\super [56]} around.

He put the poles through the rings on the sides of the altar. The poles were used for carrying the altar. He used boards to make the sides of the altar. It was hollow, {like an empty box}.

Those gifts and sacrifices were only about food and drink and special washings. Those things were only rules about the body—\{not about things inside people’s hearts\}. God gave those rules \{for his people to follow\} until the time of God’s new way.


Dear children, don’t let any person lead you into the wrong way. Christ is righteous (good). To be good like Christ, a person must do what is right (good).

Eli was very old. He heard again and again about the things his sons were doing to all the Israelites at Shiloh. Eli also heard about his sons sleeping with the women who served at the door of the Meeting Tent.
