Daniel 6:7 - Easy To Read Version

7 The supervisors, prefects, {\cf2\super [68]} satraps, advisers, and governors have all agreed on something. We think that the king should make this law. Everyone must obey this law. This is the law: If anyone prays to any god or man, except to you, king, for the next 30 days, then that person will be thrown into the lions’ den (cage).

Those bad people are like lions trying to catch the animals they will eat.\par They attack poor people.\par The poor people are caught in the traps that the evil people make.\par


Their kings and leaders joined together\par to fight against the Lord\par and against the king he chose.\par


Look, strong men are waiting for me.\par They are waiting to kill me,\par even though I did not sin\par or commit any crime.\par

Then the Chaldeans {\cf2\super [7]} answered the king. They spoke in the Aramaic language. {\cf2\super [8]} They said, “King, live forever! We are your servants. Please tell us your dream, then we will tell you what it means.”


And you also said that if any person does not bow down and worship the gold idol, then that person will be thrown into a very hot furnace.


Then the king called the satraps, {\cf2\super [20]} the prefects, {\cf2\super [21]} governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, rulers, and all the other officials in his kingdom to come together. The king wanted all those men to come to the dedication ceremony for the idol.


When they came out, the satraps {\cf2\super [36]} , prefects {\cf2\super [37]} , governors, and royal advisers crowded around them. They could see that the fire had not burned Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Their bodies were not burned at all. Their hair was not burned, their robes were not burned, and they didn’t even smell like they had been near fire.


If any person does not bow down and worship this gold idol, then that person will be quickly thrown into a very hot furnace.


So King Darius gave the order. They brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den (cage). The king said to Daniel, “I hope the God you worship saves you!”


My God sent his angel to save me. The angel closed the lions’ mouths. The lions have not hurt me because my God knows I am innocent. I never did anything wrong to you, king.”


My people, remember the \{evil\} plans\par of Balak king of Moab.\par Remember what Balaam son of Beor\par said to Balak.\par Remember the things that happened\par from Acacia to Gilgal {\cf2\super [73]} .\par Remember those things and\par you will know the Lord is right!”\par


The lion (king of Nineveh) killed people\par to feed his cubs and lionesses.\par He filled his cave (Nineveh)\par with men’s bodies.\par He filled his cave\par with women he had killed.\par


But the Pharisees {\cf2\super [163]} left and made plans to kill Jesus.


In the meeting, they tried to find a way to arrest Jesus without the people seeing it. They planned to arrest Jesus and kill him.


Very early in the morning, the leading priests, the older Jewish leaders, the teachers of the law, and all the Jewish council decided what to do with Jesus. They tied Jesus and led him to Pilate, \{the governor\}. They gave Jesus to Pilate.


So the leading priests made plans to kill Lazarus too.
