Also, in Judah God’s power united the people so that they would obey the king and his officials. In this way they obeyed the word of the Lord.


On the next Sabbath day, {\cf2\super [276]} almost all the people in the city came together to hear the word of the Lord.


Simon himself also believed and was baptized. Simon stayed very close to Philip. He saw the miracles {\cf2\super [161]} and the very powerful things that Philip did. Simon was amazed.


Philip {\cf2\super [156]} went to the city of Samaria. He told people about the Christ. {\cf2\super [157]}


Many of these people had evil spirits \{from the devil\} inside them. But Philip made the evil spirits leave them. The spirits made a loud noise when they came out. There were also many weak and crippled people there. Philip made these people well, too.
