Some of the men in the meeting were Sadducees {\cf2\super [454]} and some others were Pharisees. {\cf2\super [455]} So Paul had an idea: He shouted to them, “My brothers, I am a Pharisee and my father was a Pharisee! I am on trial here because I hope (believe) that people will rise from death!”


I have the same hope in God that these Jews have—the hope that all people, good and bad, will be raised from death.


That is why I wanted to see you and talk with you. I am bound with this chain because I believe in the hope of Israel. {\cf2\super [526]} ”


They were upset because of what Peter and John were teaching the people. By telling people about Jesus, the two apostles {\cf2\super [65]} were teaching that people will rise from death.
