³ We sailed near the island of Cyprus. We could see it on the north side, but we did not stop. We sailed to the country of Syria. We stopped at the city of Tyre because the ship needed to unload its cargo there.

At Patara we found a ship that was going to the area of Phoenicia. We went on the ship and sailed away.

Acts 21:7

We continued our trip from Tyre and went to the city of Ptolemais. We greeted the brothers (believers) there and stayed with them one day.

Acts 27:4

We left the city of Sidon. We sailed close to the island of Cyprus because the wind was blowing against us.

Acts 4:36

One of the believers was named Joseph. The apostles {\cf2\super [82]} called him Barnabas. (This name means “A person that helps others.”) He was a Levite {\cf2\super [83]} born in Cyprus.

Judges 10:6

Again the people of Israel did things the Lord said are evil. They began worshiping the false gods Baal [93] and the Ashtoreth. [94] They also worshiped the gods of the people of Aram, the gods of the people of Sidon, the gods of the people of Moab, the gods of the people of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistine people. The people of Israel left the Lord and stopped serving him.
