Acts 2:33 - Easy To Read Version

33 Jesus was lifted up to heaven. Now Jesus is with God, at God’s right side. The Father (God) has now given the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [37]} to Jesus. The Holy Spirit is what God promised to give. So now Jesus is pouring out (giving) that Spirit. This is what you see and hear.

The Lord’s arms are raised in victory.\par The Lord showed his great power again.\par


You spoke to your followers in a vision\par and said,\par “I chose a young man from the crowd.\par And I made that young man important.\par I made that young soldier strong.\par


I will always love and support\par my chosen king.\par I will always make him strong.\par


“Look at my Servant. He will be very successful. {\cf2\super [427]} He will be very important. \{In the future\} people will honor and respect him.


For this reason, I will reward him among my people. He will have a share of all things with the people that are strong. \{I will do this for him\} because he gave his life for the people and died.


So Jesus came to them and said, “All authority (power) in heaven and on earth is given to me.


After the Lord Jesus said these things to the followers, he was carried up into heaven. There, Jesus sat at the right side of God.


Listen! My Father has promised you something; I will send it to you. But you must stay in Jerusalem until you have received that power from heaven.”


I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. {\cf2\super [213]} He will give you this Helper to be with you forever.


But the Helper {\cf2\super [215]} will teach you everything. The Helper will cause you to remember all the things I told you. This Helper is the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [216]} that the Father will send in my name.


And now, Father, give me glory with you. Give me the glory I had with you before the world was made.


One time when Jesus was eating with them, he told them not to leave Jerusalem. Jesus said, “The Father has promised you something; I told you about it before. Wait here \{in Jerusalem\} to receive this promise.


The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed. They were amazed that the Holy Spirit was poured out (given) to the non-Jewish people too.


‘God says:\par In the last days,\par I will pour out (give) my Spirit {\cf2\super [25]} \par on all people.\par Your sons and daughters will prophesy. {\cf2\super [26]} \par Your young men will see visions. {\cf2\super [27]} \par Your old men will have special dreams.\par


Jesus is the One that God raised to his right side. God made Jesus our Leader and Savior. God did this so that all Jews can change their hearts and lives. Then God can forgive their sins.


And this hope will never disappoint us—\{it will never fail\}. Why? Because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. God gave us his love through the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [48]} That Holy Spirit was a gift to us from God.


Christ did this so that God’s blessing could be given to all people. God promised this blessing to Abraham. The blessing comes through Jesus Christ. \{Christ died\} so that we could have the Spirit {\cf2\super [34]} that God promised. We receive this promise by believing.


It is the same with you people. You heard the true teaching—the Good News {\cf2\super [5]} about your salvation. When you heard that Good News, you believed in Christ. And in Christ, God put his special mark on you by giving you the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [6]} that he promised.


That is why it says \{in the Scriptures {\cf2\super [30]} \},


I pray that the faith you share will make you understand every good thing that we have in Christ.


But Christ offered only one sacrifice for sins, and that sacrifice is enough for all time. Then Christ sat down at the right side of God.


For a short time Jesus was made lower than the angels, but now we see him wearing a crown of glory and honor because he suffered and died. Because of God’s grace (kindness) Jesus died for every person.


You believe in God through Christ. God raised Christ from death. Then God gave glory to him. So your faith and your hope are in God.


Now Jesus has gone into heaven. He is at God’s right side. He rules over angels, authorities, and powers.
