The Lord will make you the king of Israel. May the Lord give you wisdom and understanding so you can lead the people and obey the law of the Lord your God.


And help my son Solomon be true to you.\par Help him always obey your commands, laws, and rules.\par Help Solomon to do these things.\par and help him build this capital city\par that I have planned.”\par


I am your servant.\par Help me understand\par so I can know your Agreement. {\cf2\super [600]} \par


Your Agreement is good forever.\par Help me understand it so I can live.\par


Lord, you made me\par and you support me with your hands.\par Help me learn and understand\par your commands.\par


People will see what God has done.\par They will tell other people about him.\par Then everyone will learn more about God.\par They will learn to fear and respect him.\par


I looked at this and I thought about it. Then I learned a lesson from these things:


A cow knows its master.\par And a donkey knows the place where its owner feeds it.\par But the people of Israel don’t know me.\par My people don’t understand.”\par


Our God is using this to teach you a lesson. \{This example\} shows us that God is fair when he punishes his people.


You party with your wine, harps, {\cf2\super [52]} drums, flutes, and other musical instruments. And you don’t see the things the Lord has done. The Lord’s hands have made many, many things—but you don’t notice those things. So, it will be very bad for you people.


God gave Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah the wisdom and ability to learn many different kinds of writing and science. Daniel could also understand all kinds of visions {\cf2\super [5]} and dreams.


I will give you the wisdom to say things that none of your enemies can answer.


Then Jesus helped the followers understand these Scriptures {\cf2\super [397]} written \{about him\}.


“Don’t forget the things I will tell you now: The Son of Man {\cf2\super [174]} will soon be given into the control of some men.”


But the Helper {\cf2\super [215]} will teach you everything. The Helper will cause you to remember all the things I told you. This Helper is the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [216]} that the Father will send in my name.


But when the Spirit of truth {\cf2\super [224]} comes, he will lead you into all truth. The Spirit of truth will not speak his own words. He will speak only what he hears. He will tell you the things that will happen.


Joseph had many troubles there, but God saved him from all those troubles. Pharaoh was the king of Egypt. He liked Joseph and respected him because of the wisdom that God gave Joseph. Pharaoh gave Joseph the job of being a governor of Egypt. He even let Joseph rule over all the people in Pharaoh’s house.


The Spirit gives one person the ability to speak with wisdom. And the same Spirit gives another person the ability to speak with knowledge.


If they were wise, they would understand, they would know what would happen to them!


“So today you must remember and accept that the Lord is God. He is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other God!


Brothers and sisters, continue to think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.


Since the day we heard these things about you, we have continued praying for you. We pray these things for you:


Continue to do those things. Give your life to doing those things. Then all the people can see that your work is progressing (continuing).


The farmer who works hard should be the first person to get some of the food that he grew.


Remember Jesus Christ. He is from the family of David. {\cf2\super [12]} After Jesus died, he was raised from death. This is the Good News {\cf2\super [13]} that I tell people.


Think about Jesus. He was patient while sinful men were doing bad things against him. Think about him, so that you also will be patient and not stop trying.


Remember your leaders. They taught God’s message to you. Remember how they lived and died, and copy their faith.


So all of you should think about Jesus. God sent Jesus to us, and he is the high priest {\cf2\super [15]} of our faith. I tell you to think about him, my brothers and sisters, because God chose you to be his holy {\cf2\super [16]} people.


You can see that Melchizedek {\cf2\super [57]} was very great. Abraham, {\cf2\super [58]} our great father, {\cf2\super [59]} gave Melchizedek one-tenth of everything that Abraham won in battle.


But if any of you needs wisdom, then you should ask God for it. God is generous. He enjoys giving to all people. So God will give you wisdom.


That kind of “wisdom” does not come from God. That “wisdom” comes from the world. It is not spiritual. It is from the devil.


But the wisdom that comes from God is like this: First, it is pure. It is also peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help people who have trouble and to do good things for other people. This wisdom is always fair and honest.


But, dear friends, use your most holy faith to build yourselves up strong. Pray with the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [10]}
