David and all the people of Israel were celebrating before God. They were praising God and singing songs. They were playing harps, {\cf2\super [139]} lyres, {\cf2\super [140]} drums, cymbals, {\cf2\super [141]} and trumpets.


So all the people of Israel brought up the Box of the Agreement. {\cf2\super [176]} They shouted, they blew rams’ horns and trumpets, and they played cymbals, {\cf2\super [177]} lyres, {\cf2\super [178]} and harps. {\cf2\super [179]}


They came to Jerusalem with lyres, {\cf2\super [234]} harps, and trumpets and went to the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [235]}


The Lord goes up \{to his throne\}\par at the sound of the trumpet and horn.\par


King, you gave a command. You said that everyone that hears the sound of the horns, flutes, lyres, {\cf2\super [29]} sambucas, {\cf2\super [30]} harps, bagpipes, {\cf2\super [31]} and all the other musical instruments must bow down and worship the gold idol.


Now, when you hear the sound of the horns, flutes, lyres, {\cf2\super [32]} sambucas, {\cf2\super [33]} harps, bagpipes, {\cf2\super [34]} and all the other musical instruments, you must bow down and worship the gold idol. If you are ready to worship the idol I have made, that will be good. But if you don’t worship it, you will be thrown very quickly into the hot furnace. Then no god will be able to save you from my power!”


You must bow down as soon as you hear the sound of all the musical instruments. When you hear the horns, flutes, lyres, {\cf2\super [22]} sambucas, {\cf2\super [23]} harps, bagpipes, {\cf2\super [24]} and all of the other musical instruments, you must worship the gold idol. King Nebuchadnezzar has set this idol up.


So, as soon as they heard the sound of the horns, flutes, lyres, {\cf2\super [25]} sambucas, {\cf2\super [26]} bagpipes, {\cf2\super [27]} and all of the other musical instruments, they bowed down and worshiped the gold idol. All the peoples, nations, and men of every kind of language there worshiped the gold idol that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.


Take your noisy songs away from here.\par I will not listen to the music\par from your harps.\par


You play your harps.\par And like David, you practice on {\cf2\super [78]} \par your musical instruments.\par


Then you will go to Gibeath Elohim. There is a Philistine fort in that place. When you come to this town, a group of prophets will come out. These prophets will come down from the place for worship. [106] They will be prophesying. [107] They will be playing harps, tambourines, flutes, and lyres.


Give us the command and we will look for someone who can play the harp. If the bad spirit from the Lord comes on you, this person will play music for you. Then you will feel better.”
