20 Then David went to Baal Perazim and defeated the Philistines in that place. David said, “The Lord broke through my enemies like water breaking through a broken dam.” That is why David named that place “Baal Perazim.” [31]

Then David and his men went up to the town of Baal Perazim. There David and his men defeated the Philistine people. David said, “Waters break out from a broken dam. In the same way, God has broken through my enemies! God has done this through me.” That is why that place is named Baal Perazim. {\cf2\super [149]}


God, you were angry at us.\par You rejected us\par and destroyed us.\par Please make us whole again.\par


The Lord will fight like he did at Mount Perazim. The Lord will be angry like he was in Gibeon Valley. {\cf2\super [262]} Then the Lord will do the things he must do. The Lord will do some strange things. But he will finish his work. His work is a stranger’s job.
