“When your life is finished, you will die and be buried with your ancestors. But then I will make one of your own children become the king.


So his servants said to him, “We will find a young woman to care for you. She will lie close to you and keep you warm.”


Jeroboam ruled as king for 22 years. Then he died and was buried with his ancestors. [176] His son Nadab became the new king after him.


Rehoboam died and was buried with his ancestors. [179] He was buried with his ancestors in the City of David. [180] (His mother was Naamah. She was an Ammonite.) Rehoboam’s son, Abijah became the next king after him.


Then David died. He was buried in the City of David.


At that time, the Lord sent Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah to fight against Judah.


Ahaz son of Jotham became king of Judah during the 17th year that Pekah son of Remaliah was king of Israel.


Jehoram {died and} was buried with his ancestors [102] in the City of David. [103] Jehoram’s son Ahaziah became the new king.


Jotham’s son was Ahaz. Ahaz’s son was Hezekiah. Hezekiah’s son was Manasseh.


Then Jotham died and was buried with his ancestors. {\cf2\super [315]} The people buried him in David’s City. {\cf2\super [316]} Ahaz became the king in Jotham’s place. Ahaz was Jotham’s son.


Ahaz was 20 years old when he became king. He ruled 16 years in Jerusalem. Ahaz didn’t live right like David his ancestor. {\cf2\super [317]} Ahaz didn’t do the things the Lord wanted him to do.


Uzziah was the father of Jotham.\par Jotham was the father of Ahaz.\par Ahaz was the father of Hezekiah.\par
