2 Corinthians 3:3 - Easy To Read Version

My God, I want to do what you want.\par I know your teachings.\par


My soul is thirsty for the Living God.\par When can I go to meet with him?\par


Lord, I can’t wait to enter your temple.\par I'm so excited!\par Every part of me wants to be with\par the Living God.\par


The Lord said to Moses, “Come to me on the mountain. I have written my teachings and laws on two flat stones. These teachings and laws are for the people. I will give these flat stones to you.”


So the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai. Then the Lord gave him the two flat stones with the Agreement [325] on them. God used his finger and wrote on the stones.


Then Moses went down the mountain. Moses had the two flat stones with the Agreement [328] on them. Those commandments were written on both sides of the stone, front and back.


Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make two more flat stones like the first two that were broken. I will write the same words on these stones that were written on the first two stones.


Never stop loving. Always be loyal and true. \{Make these things a part of yourself\}—tie them around your neck and write them on your heart.


\{Keep my commands and teachings with you always.\} Tie them around your fingers. Write them on your heart.


But the Lord is the only true God.\par He is the only God who is truly alive.\par He is the King that rules forever.\par The earth shakes when God is angry.\par The people of the nations can’t stop his anger.\par


“The sins of the people of Judah\par are written down in a place where they can’t be erased.\par Those sins were cut into stone\par with an iron pen.\par Their sins were cut into stone\par with a diamond tipped pen. {\cf2\super [134]} \par And that stone is their heart.\par Those sins were cut\par into the horns of their altars. {\cf2\super [135]} \par


“In the future, I will make this Agreement {\cf2\super [261]} with the people of Israel.” This message is from the Lord. “I will put my teachings in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.


I will bring them together and make them like one person. I will put a new spirit {\cf2\super [98]} in them. I will take away that heart of stone, and I will put a real heart in its place.


I am making a new law. This law is for people in every part of my kingdom. All of you people must fear and respect the God of Daniel.


Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, {\cf2\super [229]} the Son of the living God.”


Is Apollos important? No! Is Paul important? No! We are only servants of God who helped you believe. Each one of us did the work God gave us to do.


God made us able to be servants of a new agreement \{from God to his people\}. This new agreement is not a written law. It is of the Spirit. {\cf2\super [9]} The written law brings death, but the Spirit gives life.


The old agreement {\cf2\super [10]} (the law) that brought death was written with words on stone. {\cf2\super [11]} It came with \{God’s\} glory. The face of Moses {\cf2\super [12]} was so bright with glory that the people of Israel (the Jews) could not continue looking at his face. And that glory later disappeared.


From this time on we don’t think of any person like the world thinks of people. It is true that in the past we thought of Christ like the world thinks. But we don’t think that way now.


People everywhere tell about the good way you accepted us when we were there with you. Those people tell about how you stopped worshiping idols {\cf2\super [3]} and changed to serve the living and true God.


“This is the agreement {\cf2\super [131]} I will make with my people in the future, says the Lord.\par I will put my laws in their hearts.\par I will write my laws in their minds.”\par \i (Jeremiah 31:33)\i0 \par


This is the new agreement I will give the people of Israel. {\cf2\super [89]} \par I will give this agreement in the future, says the Lord:\par I will put my laws in their minds,\par and I will write my laws on their hearts.\par I will be their God,\par and they will be my people.\par


So surely the blood of Christ can do much, much more. Christ offered himself through the eternal Spirit {\cf2\super [106]} as a perfect sacrifice {\cf2\super [107]} to God. His blood will make us fully clean from the evil things we have done. His blood will make us pure even in our hearts. We are made pure so that we can worship (serve) the living God.


Here is proof that the living God is truly with you. Here is proof that he will truly defeat your enemies. He will defeat the Canaanite people, the Hittite people, the Hivite people, the Perizzite people, the Girgashite people, the Amorite people, and the Jebusite people, he will force them to leave that land.

Every person that hears these things should listen to what the Spirit {\cf2\super [33]} says to the churches.”

David asked the men standing near him, “{What did he say?} What is the reward for killing this Philistine and taking away this shame from Israel? Who is this Goliath anyway?
