2 Chronicles 30:9 - Easy To Read Version

9 If you come back and obey the Lord, then your relatives and your children will find mercy from the people that captured them. And your relatives and your children will come back to this land. The Lord your God is kind and merciful. He will not turn away from you if you come back to him.

Azariah went to meet Asa. Azariah said, “Listen to me Asa, and all you people of Judah and Benjamin! The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you look for the Lord, you will find him. But if you leave him, he will leave you.


and if my people who are called by my name become humble and pray, and look for me, and turn away from their evil ways, then I will hear them from heaven. And I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land.


They refused to listen.\par They forgot the amazing things you did with them!\par They became stubborn.\par They decided to return to Egypt\par and became slaves again!\par


But you are so kind!\par You didn’t destroy them completely.\par You didn’t leave them.\par You are such a kind and merciful God!\par


Other nations took them as prisoners.\par But God made them be kind to his people.\par


God does amazing things\par so that we will remember\par that the Lord is kind and merciful.\par


Master, you are a kind and merciful God.\par You are patient, loyal, and full of love.\par


Master, you are good and merciful.\par Your people call to you for help.\par You really love those people.\par


A person that hides his sins will not be successful. But a person that confesses his sins and stops doing wrong will receive mercy.


Evil people should stop living evil lives.\par They should stop thinking bad thoughts.\par They should come to the Lord again.\par Then the Lord will comfort them.\par Those people should come to the Lord\par because our God forgives.\par


I will scatter the people of Judah.\par They will run from their enemies.\par I will scatter the people of Judah like\par an east wind that blows things away.\par I will destroy those people.\par They won’t see me coming to help them.\par No! They will see me leaving!”\par


Jonah complained to the Lord and said, “I knew this would happen! I was in my own country, and you told me to come here. At that time, I knew that you would forgive the people of this evil city. So I decided to run away to Tarshish. I knew that you are a kind God! I knew that you show mercy and don’t want to punish people! I knew that you are full of kindness! I knew that if these people stopped sinning, you would change your plans to destroy them.


There is no God like you.\par You take away people’s guilt.\par


“All these things I have said will happen to you. You will have good things from the blessings, and you will have bad things from the curses. The Lord your God will send you away to other nations. Then you will think about these things.


The Lord your God is a merciful God! He will not leave you there. He will not destroy you completely. He will not forget the Agreement that he made with your ancestors. [19]
