2 Chronicles 29:30 - Easy To Read Version

30 King Hezekiah and his officials ordered the Levites to give praise to the Lord. They sang songs that David and Asaph the seer {\cf2\super [359]} had written. They praised God and became happy. They all bowed and worshiped God.

Then Jehoiada chose the priests to be responsible for the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [267]} Those priests were Levites, and David had given them the job of being responsible for the Lord’s temple. Those priests were to offer the burnt offerings {\cf2\super [268]} to the Lord the way the Law of Moses commanded. They offered the sacrifices {\cf2\super [269]} with much joy and singing the way David commanded.


The children of Israel at Jerusalem celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread {\cf2\super [374]} for seven days. They were very happy. The Levites and the priests gave praise to the Lord every day with all their strength.


All the people agreed to stay seven more days. They were joyful as they celebrated the Passover {\cf2\super [376]} for seven more days.


So there was much joy in Jerusalem. There was not anything like this celebration since the time of Solomon son of David king of Israel.


All the people of Israel saw the fire come down from heaven. The people of Israel also saw the Glory of the Lord on the temple. They bowed their faces down low to the ground on the pavement. They worshiped and thanked the Lord. They sang the song, The Lord is good. His kindness continues forever. {\cf2\super [120]}


Then the people of Israel celebrated the dedication {\cf2\super [35]} of God’s temple with much happiness. The priests, the Levites, and all the other people that came back from captivity joined in the celebration.


They celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread {\cf2\super [41]} with much joy for seven days. The Lord made them very happy because he had changed the attitude of the king of Assyria. {\cf2\super [42]} So the king of Assyria had helped them do the work on God’s temple.


(Long ago, in the days of David, Asaph had been the director. And he had many songs of praise and thanks to God.)


Then our ancestors {\cf2\super [555]} believed God.\par They sang praises to him.\par


Let Israel enjoy themselves with their Maker.\par Let the people on Zion {\cf2\super [651]} rejoice with their King.\par


Good people, rejoice\par and be very happy in the Lord.\par All you people with pure hearts, rejoice!\par


The Lord, the God of gods has spoken.\par He calls to all the people on earth,\par from the rising to the setting sun.\par


Come, let’s bow down and worship him!\par Let’s praise the God who made us!\par


Worship the Lord in his beautiful temple.\par Worship the Lord, every person on earth.\par


Always be happy in the Lord. I will say it again. Be happy.
